Piedmont between art, history, nature and good wine

discover piemonte italy

Piedmont is certainly not the most famous region in Italy in terms of tourism. Yet it hides priceless treasures: wonderful cities of art, rolling hills studded with vineyards, spectacular mountains and timeless medieval villages. Piedmont is a fascinating place, rich in culture and natural wonders: in short, there is something for everyone, you just need to know where to look. With this article I will try to help you discover some of its beauties.

You can't help but start from Turin, the capital and former capital of Italy. Lose yourself among its historic buildings, regal places, ancient cafes and squares that tell the story of Italy: you won't be disappointed. Of course, don't forget the Mole Antonelliana and Piazza San Carlo, symbols of the city, majestic monuments rich in history.

Other essential stops are the museums: the very prestigious Egyptian Museum, second only to the one in Cairo for the richness of its collection, and the Cinema Museum, a unique place to relive the history of the seventh art.

Looking beyond the skyline of Turin, the mountain ranges of the Alps tower imposing and sublime. A few hours' drive will be enough to reach enchanting places, perfect for trekking lovers. We can mention Alpe Devero, one of the most suggestive mountain destinations; with its crystalline lakes (the lake of the fairies and the lake of the witches) it will make you breathe a simply magical atmosphere.

Going a little further down, we cannot fail to talk about the Piedmont region without mentioning the Monferrato area, famous for its rolling hills and above all for the prestigious wine that is produced here. A weekend among these hills, perhaps accompanied by a guided tour of the cellars to discover all the secrets of the winemaking art, without missing out on tastings, will make you completely relax.

If you want to combine history and nature in your holiday, Piedmont is for you, with its medieval villages and regal palaces immersed in breathtaking landscapes. For example, the village of San Giulio, located on a small and picturesque island that emerges from Lake Orta. Or let's not forget the sumptuous Borromean Islands, treasure of Lake Maggiore, with their rich vegetation and sumptuous palaces.

If you want to spend a weekend of peace and relaxation, without neglecting history and culture, Piedmont is the ideal place.

I would like to list a thousand other places that are worth visiting, but I would go on too long: we will have the opportunity to discover them in the next articles.

In any case, Piedmont is here waiting for you, ready to welcome you with open arms with its spectacular beauties.

If you are looking for an oasis of relaxation that allows you to quickly reach all the wonders I have told you about, our Bed And Breakfast is the perfect place. It is located in Asigliano Vercellese: a strategic position from which you can easily reach the Asti area to taste its delicious wines, you will have the magnificent Turin at your fingertips and you can treat yourself to a trip to the beautiful Lake Orta.
